Reid State Graduates Can Now Transfer Degree to Columbia Southern University

ORANGE BEACH, Ala. – On Tuesday, Aug. 2, 2022, Columbia Southern University (CSU), an accredited online university based in Orange Beach, Ala., and Reid State Technical College, based in Evergreen, Alabama and a member of the Alabama Community College System, have partnered to allow for the seamless transfer of Reid’s associate degrees toward a bachelor’s degree in business at CSU.

Through the agreement, former and future Reid graduates who earned their Associate of Applied Science and/or Associate of Applied Technology degree may transfer their earned credits directly toward CSU’s Bachelor of Science in business administration. Additionally, Reid State students, faculty, staff and their families will have access to a Learning Partnership discount of 10% toward courses taken at CSU.

Reid State President Coretta Boykin, Ed.D., and CSU President Ken Styron, DBA, were joined by other officials from their schools Tuesday to sign a memorandum of understanding at CSU.

"Reid State exists to foster opportunities for students that allow them to pursue their dream of success with the training and advising they receive from our faculty and staff,” said Boykin. “An agreement with Columbia Southern University that not only creates a clear pathway to a four-year degree, but that also provides our students with the same, first-class advising care that we provide to our students on-site, is an excellent collaboration that can move our students forward. We look forward to working with Columbia Southern University for years to come."

Styron agreed, adding: “CSU is excited to welcome Reid State grads to CSU and help them continue their journey of higher education. As a university that was founded to provide accessible, affordable higher education for working professionals, we feel this agreement will increase their options for success by building on their skills and talents.”
