The Certified Dangerous Goods Professional certification is a valued credential in the transportation safety industry. This course is designed to present students with an overview of the concepts covered in the Institute of Hazardous Materials Management (IHMM) CDGP® exam.
PowerPoint presentations with pre-recorded audio and supplementary material will take you through how to identify and prepare dangerous goods for shipment according to the DOT’s 49 CFR regulations, the ICAO Technical Instructions, and the IMDG Code. The presentation covers the topics outlined in the CDGP® examination blueprint (as indicated in the course syllabus).

It is highly recommended that students consult updated copies of the ICAO TI and IMDG Code. Title 49 CFR can be accessed online.

Prerequisites to Take Certification Exam
A minimum of five years of relevant experience in a field related to dangerous goods transportation to take the IHMM CDGP® certification exam. Candidates must meet all eligibility requirements before scheduling and taking their exam. These include the following:
- File an application
- Transcript (upload a copy of your transcript/diploma if applicable to the application)
- Third-party employment verification
- Pay the application fee
