The Vicki Barnes Community Involvement Scholarship recognizes those students who share Vicki's passion for giving back.

Vicki Barnes Community Involvement Scholarship

Scholarship Details

The Vicki Barnes Community Involvement Scholarship is a 60-credit hour scholarship awarded annually. It is open to students who are currently enrolled or planning to enroll with Columbia Southern University in an undergraduate or graduate program. The award will be applied for up to three years or until completion of the program. The scholarship recipient will be required to enroll within 90 days of the award notification.

To be eligible for this scholarship, an applicant must demonstrate a history of community involvement. This could include volunteering at a local shelter or food pantry, participating in a community service organization, organizing a fundraiser for a charitable cause, or any other activity that has made a positive impact within their community. We want to hear how an applicant has worked to improve the lives of those around them, just as Vicki Barnes has done. In addition to community involvement, we also consider academic achievement and financial need when awarding this scholarship. We are looking for well-rounded students who are committed to making a difference.

To apply for this scholarship, an applicant must submit a 500-word essay describing their community involvement, including the impact they have made and how the experience has impacted them.

Eligibility

  • Begin coursework within 90 days of the date of the award.
  • Maintain a 2.0 undergraduate or 3.0 graduate GPA.
  • Remain in good standing with CSU throughout a degree program.
  • Maintain continuous enrollment in a degree program.

Application
